Would you like some cheese with that?

HURRAY HURRAY, IT'S GOING TO BE A LOVELY DAY!
Those of you who have been in the Niagara Region during its wine season will understand the excitement with which we face the Autumn here. Those of you who haven't had the pleasure – why not?!
Over a roughly six-week period (which is quickly closing), you can drive anywhere on the country roads (and even some of the urban ones) in the Region and get a sense of why this place has made many of us make it home. Let others hanker for more exotic locales! The air, "perfumed from an unseen censer", forecasts eagerly-awaited delights for the palate – delights of fruit and spice and the smoky essence of rich wood.... (Excuse me while I remove the saliva from my keyboard.).
Truly, the Niagara Region is blessed with some of the finest lands, vines and vintners that the world has to offer. To experience the product of such divine intervention, one must merely walk to the nearest wine shop. However, nothing in this world equals the firsthand experience of this area during wine season.
From early September until early January, the Niagara Region is packed with festivals and events that always top the "TO DO" list. And although the grand-daddy of mardis-style wine events (the Niagara Wine Festival) has passed, visitors to the Niagara Region are still able to experience some incredible wine bashes.
The one that tops my list, in terms of having a palate changing experience, has to be the Niagara Ice Wine Festival. Visitors to the festival can cozy up to the outdoor ice bars and sip at honey colored, liquid dessert. Don't neglect the Ice Wine Gala, where to add world-class dishes and cheeses, expertly paired, to the tastings.
With over 30 wineries all participating in these events, your visit to the Niagara Region during wine season is sure to be more than you could ever imagine. Better come for couple of days so you don't miss anything (you definitely don't want to miss ANYTHING). After all, we also have some world class accommodations for you to wake up in also.
